Mark aided House’s trigger by driving a wedge between himself and his spouse when he suspects a brewing affair. Mark was finally proven right, as Stacy fell for House all over again and they slept together. As Stacy ready to go away her husband for House, he then rejected her (stating that he couldn’t make her pleased, because he couldn’t change). She stop her job on the hospital and went again home to Short Hills with Mark. An enraged Wilson believed House broke her coronary heart not out of guilt for Mark (which isn’t his modus), but as a last-ditch resort to ensure that House does not permit himself happiness.
On a routine clinic visit, a police detective, Michael Tritter, is seen by House. Tritter observes House taking Vicodin for his ache and blames this for House’s being rude and a bully. Tritter, believing doctors must be more responsible while working towards drugs, decides to take it upon himself to take authorized action to free House of his dependancy by launching an investigation into suspected drug abuse. The investigation slowly includes Cuddy, Wilson and House’s diagnostics group, with Tritter using excessive measures to get information. At the pretrial hearing, the Judge decides House just isn’t a hazard to society and that his pain administration for his leg isn’t as severe as Tritter made it seem.
